Kathleen Mitts Named One of Cincinnati's Top 10 CPAs

Women's Business Cincinnati, a leading business publication dedicated to providing visibility for women in business in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Indiana, has announced the members of this years Top 10 CPA list.  Each year, the newspaper receives thousands of nominations from readers and business leaders throughout the tri-state area. Among the honorees was Decosimo's Kathleen Mitts, Tax Director for the Cincinnati office.

Kathy has 22 years of experience in public accounting, with 18 years specifically in the tax services area. She joined the firm in 2003 to assist the tax practice in the Cincinnati office after 19 years with other regional and local accounting firms. Her tax consulting experience includes comprehensive corporate, S corporation, partnership and individual research and planning, review and compliance, and representation before the Internal Revenue Service as well as other state and local tax authorities.

Tax consulting for individuals and businesses has included tax implications to shareholders, S corporations and corporations in connection with business succession planning, estate planning, retirement planning, alternative minimum tax, partnership and corporate income tax planning, extensive research regarding a multitude of technical issues involving tax-exempt organizations, corporate distributions, non-competition agreements, and various items with tax consequences to shareholders and partners.

Kathy also puts her skills to work for community causes, including serving as treasurer of the board of directors for the Women's Crisis Center.  Fellow board member Cynthia Gibson said of Mitts, "[Kathy's] clients can rely upon her for excellent financial advice, and her contributions to our community have made it a better place to live."
