Robert Belcher has provided audit and accounting services for publicly and privately held businesses, as well as governmental entities, for nearly 30 years. He has also assisted numerous clients in achieving compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Robert has worked with manufacturing clients since 1985 and is a practice leader for Decosimo’s manufacturing and distribution specialty group. He has provided manufacturing clients with industry-specialized assistance related to cost accounting and other inventory issues, revenue recognition and internal control framework. Audit clients served include manufacturers in the textile, food, furniture, construction, printing, portrait studios and carpet sectors, as well as brokerage and investment firms, government contractors and governmental entities.

He currently provides assurance and due diligence services for approximately 50 investment companies and investment advisory firms with total net assets of approximately $5 billion. He has assisted clients in complying with the requirements of investment and fair value reporting, and the operating conditions and auditing procedures unique to the investment company industry. His corporate finance clients include venture capital and investment funds. 

Robert has more than 20 years experience providing financial due diligence and other merger and acquisition services to a large variety of businesses. His corporate finance clients include companies in industries ranging from venture capital funds, to manufacturing and distribution, investment companies, portrait studios, food processing and environmental remediation.

Robert received his certified public accountant (CPA) certificate in 1983 after graduating from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is licensed to practice in Tennessee. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).

Robert is a Chattanooga native and currently serves on the board of directors of the Chattanooga Breakfast Rotary Club. His other community activities include volunteering for Junior Achievement. Past community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for numerous not-for-profit organizations.
