Derek Daniel is an assurance manager with nearly ten years experience in public accounting, leads Decosimo’s Huntsville office. 

He manages audit engagements for clients in various industries including government contractors, manufacturing, government, construction, wholesale, healthcare, telecommunications and Major League Baseball. He has experience in assisting clients to achieve compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. He also performs due diligence and agreed-upon procedures.

Derek is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA). Additionally, he is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), where he served on the organization’s Young CPA Committee for 3 years. He is a past board member for the Chattanooga Room in the Inn. He participated in the Focus program offered through Leadership Huntsville/Madison County and was also was a member of Huntsville’s Leadership Connect Class 13.

Derek graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
