Rose Decosimo is an Assurance Principal with more than 20 years experience in public accounting. She has provided assurance services to public companies, not-for-profit organizations and privately held businesses in industries including financial services, hospitality and manufacturing.

She has served clients ranging from small privately held businesses to organizations with total assets in excess of a billion dollars. As a result of this experience, Rose can effectively communicate with a public company audit committee as well as a small business owner. 

Experience with both auditing and serving on the boards of not-for-profit organizations has provided Rose with an in-depth knowledge of the industry. In addition, she regularly attends the AICPA Not-for-Profit Industry Conference. She has also been asked to speak to groups on topics including not-for-profit accounting updates, board governance and women’s role in philanthropy.

A graduate of Leadership Chattanooga, her current community service includes serving on the boards of the Hospice of Chattanooga Foundation, WTCI – Tennessee Valley PBS and Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation where she serves as audit committee chair. Rose’s prior community service includes service for numerous not-for-profit organizations including United Way of Greater Chattanooga and the Center for Nonprofits. Her service on parent and advisory committees and boards for local schools, and involvement in the start-up of a STEM charter school provide her with a unique understanding of educational institutions. Her participation on the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) Chancellor’s Roundtable also contributed to her understanding of educational institutions. 

Rose holds a Master of Business Administration from UTC and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in the state of Tennessee and is also a former registered nurse. In 2009, Rose was named the Accountant of the Year by UTC’s Beta Alpha Psi Society.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors.  She also serves on the Assurance Services Special Interest Group Committee of Moore Stephens North America.
