Tom, a CPA since 1980, has spent the last eighteen years exclusively providing corporate finance services to a large variety of businesses.
Tom’s business valuation experience has been tied closely with sell-side and buy-side transactions and the placement of debt and equity financing. Industry experience includes light and heavy industrial manufacturing, textiles, floor covering, consumer products, food processing, broadcasting, professional firms and distribution.
He has been involved in the valuation of numerous soft-drink bottlers and has given expert testimony in shareholder lawsuits. In 1988, Tom was the expert witness for the Coca- Cola Company in its landmark diet Coke lawsuit that required over 90 valuations and required more than two years to complete.
Tom graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting). He earned the American Institute of CPAs designation of Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) in 1999; the second year the designation was given.
Tom is also an Accredited Senior Appraiser in business valuation (ASA), the credential of the American Society of Appraisers.
