James Jackson is managing principal of the Atlanta office of Decosimo. James has more than 25 years experience in both public accounting and private industry. He joined the firm in 1991 and was admitted as a principal in 1998. Previously, he directed the internal audit department of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and worked as an audit manager in the real estate services group of an international accounting firm.
James has been responsible for managing client audit and accounting engagements. His industry experience includes real estate, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, leasing, restaurants, and financial services. As an audit principal, James is responsible for supervising the accounting personnel completing engagements and communicating with senior client personnel. In addition, James has experience in performing financial due diligence in connection with mergers and acquisitions.
James received his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate in 1987 after graduating from the University of Georgia and is licensed to practice in Georgia and Tennessee. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA). During the period from 1992 to 1996, he served on the board of directors of the Atlanta Chapter of the GSCPA. James currently serves as Chair of the Moore Stephens North America (MSNA) Real Estate SIG Steering Committee.
James is a past president and active member of the Georgia Chapter of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) association and in 2002 he received the Chapter’s Meritorious Service Award.
