Karl Jordan, a Domestic and International Principal with Decosimo, has over 30 years of experience in tax, auditing and corporate finance consulting services. He is also the Managing Director in charge of Moore Stephens Decosimo Cayman Limited, Decosimo’s Cayman Islands office.

Karl is the Firm’s principal that heads up the investment partnerships practice. He has extensive experience in providing services to financial institutions, private investment partnerships, alternative investment groups, hedge funds, broker/dealers, real estate companies, captive insurance, investment companies, family offices and high-net-worth individuals. He is active in the Firm’s family office operations, in which services include merger and acquisition consultation, and financial planning and estate considerations.  His investment partnership experience includes initial setup, accounting systems and procedures consultations, regulatory assistance and other related management planning and consultations.

Karl has actively worked with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Resolution Trust Corporation in closing numerous financial institutions. He has also worked with the Securities and Exchange Commission and other governmental regulatory authorities, including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He is a recognized national speaker, leading seminars and discussion groups on investment fund formations, fund operations and regulatory issues.

Karl is an active community leader and serves on numerous civic boards. He holds two undergraduate degrees in accounting from Chowan College and East Tennessee State University, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee system. Karl is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Virginia, the District of Columbia and the Cayman Islands. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), and the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants (CISPA). Karl has also earned the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation offered by the AICPA. He serves on Hedge Funds Care’s 2013 Southeast Grant Committee.
